Hi Everyone -
I pray 2008 has brought all of you renewed strength & hope as we continue on our jouneys!

After a m/c and chemical pregnancy in 2007, we are getting ready for our first IUI of 2008. If my eggs continue to grow (I pray!!), we will be ready for IUI this Thursday or Friday. All was going really well with this cycle & my egg growth up until late last week when my egg growth stalled completely. We found out during our u/s on Saturday that they are growing again now and I go back tomorrow (Tuesday) for another u/s. The rollercoaster element of this process never, ever ceases to amaze me. Thank God for His strength...because I am exhausted!

For the past few weeks the desire for twins has been heavy in my heart. While we would be beyond thrilled to have one child, recently the desire for twins has been growing & growing. Who knows what God has in store for us this round...we trust Him and only want to have the family He has planned for us.

I would so appreciate your prayers as we pray to be able to do an IUI this week. We have had a number of cycles end before we have a chance for an IUI...so we are praying that we have a chance this cycle. I would also love to pray for any of you, so please let me know how you are doing so I can pray for God's will in your life.

As always, this site is such a blessing in my life and I thank you all!

Hi Melissa -
We had our IUI on Thursday (1/24). All went well and, as you know, now begins the longest 2 weeks ever. I will do a blood test on 2/7.

How have you been doing?

How exciting! Are you taking progesterone? That stuff messes with my head so bad. We are all struggling with the flu at my house. We're on Tamiflu now and I'm hoping the high fevers will be gone in time that they won't affect my dh's sperm. Our IUI should be some time next week. Perhaps I'll be having mine on your test day. Will you test early?

Hi, Laura! I'm dying to know if you tested early, but I guess I'll have to wait for official word tomorrow. My IUI will be in the morning, so it's a big day for both of us.

Best wishes! I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Melissa -
Sorry I haven't replied in a few days! I'm sorry to hear you & your family have been battling the flu, I hope you are all feeling much better.

How did your IUI go yesterday?? When will you test? I'll be praying for you!!!

We were blessed with good news today...my HCG is 81! I will retest on Saturday and hopefully the numbers will double and this will be the pregnancy that finally brings our long awaited child to our family. We are so thankful, but still a little mellow about everything. We are just going to take this journey one day at a time.

I can't thank you enough for your prayers & kindness. Please keep me posted on how you are doing and I'll be sure to let you know about our next lab results.

Have a great night!

Hi Melissa-

Just a quick update...we received our Progesterone results this morning and our numbers are low. My doctor wants me at 17 or higher, and I'm now at 14.2. Please pray for increasing numbers!!

I hope you are feeling peaceful and calm today!

Hey, Laura! What wonderful news! I am so excited for you! Are you taking Progesterone supplements? I am on the suppositories, which I hate, but whatever it takes. The IUI went well. I ended up with several mature follicles b/c a bunch of my much smaller ones popped up in size very very quickly. After the IUI, my nurse did an ultrasound and the first thing she said was, "Oh. Wow. Okay. Pray for ONE." We'll see what happens. Have you gotten the results from your second blood test yet?

Melissa -
That's so great!! I know the doctors don't always aim for them...but I think multiples would be fabulous! You'll be in my prayers. When will you test?

No news on my results yet. I called all day on Saturday, but they weren't ready. Now I'm just waiting until Monday morning to find out. I'll let you know.

Yes, I've been on progesterone suppositories (ugh..so gross!) 2x a day since our IUI. I'm now doing them 3x a day. I'm just praying our HCG doubles (at least) and that the supplements really help the prog increase. And you are right...I'm more than happy to do anything that gets us one step closer to being parents!!!

Sending you hugs during your 2ww!

Laura,

Thinking of you this morning and praying for great news!

I started spotting this morning. I know it could be implantation bleeding, but I still don't like it. I've never had implantation bleeding before, so this makes me a bit nervous.

Please check in as soon as you know anything.

Hi Melissa -

Stay positive!!! I know so many people that have implantation spotting, so don't stress yet. (I know...easy to say, hard to do!)

I finally received my test results this morning. My Beta doubled to 186 (yeah!) and my progesterone is up 18.8. I'm still freaked out a little, but definitely feeling better. To be honest, I don't think I'll completely relax until I'm holding our baby. I don't know what the next step is, either to retest or to schedule an ultrasound. I should hear from my doctor sometime today. I'll let you know what the plan is.

Keep me posted on how you are doing. At church yesterday the sermon was about how difficult it is to live in the "meantime"...the time in between praying for God's will in your life and waiting for everything to work together for God's purpose. It was very timely. I pray God grants you courage and strength during this meantime in your life!

Thanks, Laura. That's really sweet. I was on pins and needles for your beta, so I'm very excited to see good news! Keep me posted. From here out, we can move our discussion to a new "early pregnancy" thread.
