This is from a daily devotional I receive from Joel Osteen Ministries. I felt very touched by the message and hope it encourages all of you as well. Are you facing a challenge today that seems overwhelming? Through faith and patience, you will see God’s promises come to pass in your life. Understand that the enemy always fights the hardest when he knows you are closest to your breakthrough. He’d leave you alone if he thought you were going to live in mediocrity. If you keep pressing on toward your promise, through faith and patience, you will get there. Don’t be like the Israelites in the Old Testament who were right next to their promised land when they talked themselves out of it. They said, “There are giants in the land. It’s too difficult.” No, don’t look at the obstacles in your life today; lift up your eyes because you serve Almighty God. Follow the example of Abraham who believed God even when his circumstances looked impossible. Remember, God rewards the people who seek after Him. Stand in faith and keep believing because God will take you places that you never dreamed. As you press toward the promise, you will see God’s hand of blessing in your life and live in the victory He has prepared for you. A Prayer for Today Heavenly Father, I come to You today choosing to believe Your promises. Fill me with Your faith and patience to press through to victory. I give You all the glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. |

Here's another uplifting devotional from Joel Osteen Ministries.
Galatians 6:9 "So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest-time, if we do not give up."
Are you believing God for something? Is it taking longer than you thought or expected? No matter how long you may have been standing, don’t give up! Your season is coming. Your harvest of blessing is on its way. It might be today, it might be tomorrow, it might be next week, next month or next year, but remember, at the right time you will experience your breakthrough. Be encouraged today because God is faithful and His promises are true. Keep standing, keep hoping, keep believing. Keep doing good. Keep declaring the promises of God over your life. Choose to be around people who are going to encourage you and fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. Let a song of praise come out of your mouth. As you continue to press on in faith and keep an attitude of victory, you will see your harvest of blessing and live as an overcomer in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Fill me with Your strength to keep doing good and standing firm until I see my harvest of blessing. Thank You for Your peace in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Yes, I start the Lupron this weekend. I hope my cyst is gone so there won't be any more delays. How are you doing? I am excited about the IVF but I don't know exactly what to expect. I have read lots of stuff on the internet and have all the info from the IVF class at the doctor's office. I guess I wonder what to expect besides the medical stuff. Like emotional, physical, etc. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks! |

Sharon, Sorry I haven't been on here in a while...things have been difficult lately and I wasn't sure if reading all these stories were helping or not. Things just have been so dark and I am having a real hard time.
As far as the IVF and what to expect, I am not sure what your emotional state is recently...it does take its toll...the medication, not sure what your whole protocol is...I am currently taking Lupron, Gonal F and Menapur...they can make you real moody, nauseous and very tired...I guess they can have different effects on each person but that has been my experience...also some weight gain...but we are hoping for that in the pregnancy anyway so that doesn't really make a big difference...
As far as the IVF procedures they are not real difficult...I had a bit of pain after the egg retrieval because they had to go in twice because they got 24 eggs...usually they get around 10-12ish I think...The actual transfer is pretty painless...they put you under for the retrieval so I don't how you do under anesthesia
I am scheduled for the retrieval on the 8th or 9th and the transfer on the 11th or 12th...just was in for bloodwork and consent signing today...getting close...having a hard time cause this time last year I was pregnant and I am just praying so hard that this works cause I need to hold a live baby in my arms...as I am sure you feel the same and totally understand...
well keep me posted and let me know if you have any more IVF questions

Jenni,
Thanks for the info. I'll be praying that your treatment is successful. Do you have a lot of frozen embryos? Do they anticipate getting a lot of eggs again this time?
Peace be with you and your husband.

This is a poem from a daily devotional book copyrighted in 1965. It is amazing how God's encouraging words are the same throughout time. The author of this poem is anonymous.
O Thou of little faith, God hath not failed thee yet! When all looks dark and gloomy, Thou dost so soon forget -
Forget that He has led thee, And gently cleared thy way; On clouds has poured His sunshine, And turned thy night to day.
And if He's helped thee hitherto, He will not fail thee now; How it must wound His loving heart To see thy anxious brow!
Oh! doubt not any longer, To Him commit thy way, Whom in the past thou trusted, And is "just the same today."

Daily Devotional by Max Lucado “the One who came still comes and the One who spoke still speaks”
July 11
Life Is Long Enough
All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old. Psalm 139:16 (NCV)
No person lives one day more or less than God intends. “All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.”
But her days here were so few… His life was so brief…
To us it seems that way. We speak of a short life, but compared to eternity, who has a long one? A person’s days on earth may appear as a drop in the ocean. Yours and mine may seem like a thimbleful. But compared to the Pacific of eternity, even the years of Methuselah filled no more than a glass….
In God’s plan every life is long enough and every death is timely.
And though you and I might wish for a longer life, God knows better.

This is from Joel Osteen Ministries. I hope you enjoy!
All Things Are Possible
Today's Scripture
"What is impossible with men is possible with God" (Luke 18:27).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Is there a situation in your life today that seems impossible? As a child of the Most High God, you are not limited by what you see. You are not limited by your circumstances, the economy, or what others say because with God all things are possible! It doesn't matter how it may look in the natural, when you see things through your eyes of faith, you will see new possibilities. You will see the answer that is on its way!
It all starts by having a grateful attitude: an attitude of faith and expectancy. When you declare the promises of God over your life and meditate on His Word, it activates faith in your heart. Faith draws the good things of God into your life. When you wake up every morning, declare that with God all things are possible. Declare that you are blessed and you cannot be cursed. Declare that you are above only and not beneath. Expect God's favor and blessing in your life every day. As you do, you will see Him move on your behalf, and you'll see new levels of possibility in every area of your life!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for making a way where there seems to be no way. I choose an attitude of faith and expectancy today. Work in my heart and life that I may be a living testimony of Your goodness to those around me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

This devotional is from Joyce Meyer's book "New Day New You".
Why Does God Wait So Long?
All things are possible with God. Matthew 19:26
When God came to Abraham and told him that He was going to bless him, Abraham said to God, "That's fine, but what I really want is a son." God said, "I am going to give you what you ask for," but He didn't give it to Abraham right away. The Word says, "Abraham was a hundred years old when Isaac was born." (Genesis 21:5) Actually, twenty years went by from the time God promised Abraham that he would have a child to the time that child was born. In fact, Abraham was already old when God first gave him the promise of a son.
By the time Abraham fathered that child, his wife has already gone through the change of life. She had a barren womb. So Abraham and Sarah not only had a prayer request, but also needed a miracle.
Isn't it interesting that sometimes when you ask God for something, he lets it go so long, the only thing that can possibly produce what you asked for is a miracle? Why does God do that? Because He likes "to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him." (2 Chronicles 16:9)
When Martha and Mary sent for Jesus to come and minister to their brother, Lazarus, who was gravely ill, why did Jesus wait two days longer, until Lazarus had actually died and was buried, before He went and raised Lazarus from the dead? It was because Jesus already knew what He was going to do for Lazarus.
If something is dead - a dream, a desire, a want, a need - it doesn't matter to God how dead it is. God can still bring it back to life in his timing because our God is an awesome God. Nothing is too hard for Him. That is why He is never in a hurry and why it seems as if He often waits until nothing will work but a miracle.
Please don't give up on your dreams. Have faith in God's timing. |

This is from "Streams in the Desert":
O troubled soul, beneath the rod, Thy Father speaks, be still, be still; Learn to be silent unto God, And let Him mould thee to His will.
O praying soul, be still, be still, He cannot break His plighted Word; Sink down into His blessed will, And wait in patience on the Lord.
O waiting soul, be still, be strong, And though He tarry, trust and wait; Doubt not, He will not wait too long, Fear not, He will not come too late.

Another poem from Streams in the Desert:
When is the time to trust? Is it when all is calm, When waves the victor's palm, And life is one glad psalm Of joy and praise? Nay! but the time to trust Is when the waves beat high, When storm clouds fill the sky, And prayer is one long cry, O help and save!
When is the time to trust? Is it when friends are true? Is it when comforts woo, And in all we say and do We meet but praise? Nay! but the time to trust Is when we stand alone, And summer birds have flown, And every prop is gone, All else but God.
What is the time to trust? Is it some future day, When you have tried your way, And learned to trust and pray By bitter woe? Nay! but the time to trust Is in this moment's need, Poor, broken, bruised reed! Poor, troubled soul, make speed To trust thy God.
What is the time to trust? Is it when hopes beat high, When sunshines gilds the sky, And joy and ecstasy Fill all the heart? Nay! but the time to trust Is when our joy is fled, When sorrow bows the head, And all is cold and dead, All else but God.

Hope is a golden cord connecting you to heaven. This cord helps you to hold your head up high, even when multiple trials are buffeting you. But without the cord of hope, your head may slump and your feet may shuffle as you journey uphill with Me. Hope lifts your perspective from your weary feet to the glorious view you can see from the high road. You are reminded that the road we're traveling together is ultimately a highway to heaven. When you consider this radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes much less significant. I am training you to hold in your heart a dual focus: My continual Presence and the hope of heaven.
Romans 12:12 (NIV) 12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NIV) 8But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
Hebrews 6:18-19 (NIV) 18God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

When Things Seem to be going all wrong, stop and affirm your trust in Me. Calmly bring these matters to Me, and leave them in My capable hands. Then, simply do the next thing. Stay in touch with Me through thankful, trusting prayers, resting in My sovereign control. Rejoice in Me--exult in the God of your salvation! As you trust in Me, I make your feet like the feet of a deer. I enable you to walk and make progress upon the high places.
Job 13:15 (NIV) 15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.
Psalm 18:33 (NIV) 33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (AMP) 17Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls,18Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!(A) 19The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! Pray God’s Promises
Today's Scripture
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (I John 5:14 NIV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria Osteen
Are you believing for God to do something specific in your life today? Do you need a miracle in your health, finances, or relationships? When you pray God’s promises found in His Word, you can be confident that He hears your prayers. The scripture tells us that there is power when two are in agreement, and no matter what you may be facing, you and God are a majority. Find the specific scriptures that address what you are believing for and write them on note cards. Study those scriptures and make those promises your prayers. If you need healing, you can pray, “Father, You said in Isaiah 53 that by Your stripes I am healed.” If you need provision for something, you can pray, “Father, thank You for Your promise to provide all my needs according to Your riches in glory.” Whatever you may need today, the most powerful thing you can do is to pray and declare God’s promises. As you do, you will see Him move on your behalf, and you’ll live the life of victory He has in store for you.
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your promises. I know You are faithful to Your Word, and I choose to come into agreement with Your promises. Fill me with Your confidence as I declare Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Without Wavering
Today's Scripture
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJ).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God knew there would be times when we would be tempted to waver in our confession of hope. Maybe you are believing for something and you’re starting to think, “Is this really for me? Will this really ever happen?” If that’s you today, remember, He who promised is faithful! And His faithfulness doesn’t depend on your ability to figure it all out. His faithfulness doesn’t depend on the plans we can make or the scenarios we can come up with; He’s faithfulness depends on His Word which never changes! Declare His Word and hold on to your confession of hope today. Be confident that God can make a way when there seems to be no way. Even when your mind may waver, don’t allow your confession to waver. Declare that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Declare that He Who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. Remember, there is power in your words and power when your words are in agreement with His Word. As you hold on to your confession of hope, you’ll see His faithfulness, and you’ll move forward into victory in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. I choose to guard my confession, and I will declare hope in Your Word. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf and thank You for victory in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He Weeps with Us
“Jesus wept.” John 11:35 NKJV
Jesus…weeps. He sits between Mary and Martha, puts an arm around each, and sobs… He weeps with them. He weeps for them. He weeps with you. He weeps for you. He weeps so we will know: Mourning is not disbelieving. Flooded eyes don’t represent a faithless heart. A person can enter a cemetery Jesus-certain of life after death and still have a Twin Tower crater in the heart. Christ did. He wept, and he knew he was ten minutes from seeing a living Lazarus! And his tears give you permission to shed your own. Grief does not mean you don’t trust; it simply means you can’t stand the thought of another day without the Lazarus of your life. If Jesus gave the love, he understands the tears. So grieve, but don’t grieve like those who don’t know the rest of this story.

He Will Deliver You
Today's Scripture
“Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Are you facing trouble in any area of your life today? God is standing ready to deliver you. He promises in His Word that He is near to all those who call upon His name. No matter what you may be going through, have confidence knowing that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He promises to deliver you!
Notice that this verse tells us that our part is to honor and glorify Him. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to give Him praise. You can give Him honor and glory right now. You can thank Him for all He’s done in your life so far, and what He will do in your future. Call on Him today and focus on having an attitude of faith and expectancy. Speak His Word and declare His promises over your life, knowing that He promises to deliver you. Trust in Him because He will take you places you’ve never dreamed. As you praise Him, He’ll take you higher and higher into the life of victory He has in store for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, today I call upon Your Name. I call upon You as my Salvation and my Deliverer. I trust that You are working on my behalf and choose to give You all the honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name.

Hope That Never Lets You Down
Today's Scripture
“Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Even Christians can sometimes feel hopeless and powerless to overcome adversities. Maybe you feel trapped in your job, or your marriage is in trouble and there doesn’t seem to be an answer. You may have a child who is on the wrong path. Or maybe you are single and have given up any hope of ever meeting the right person. But no matter where you are, God can turn your situation around—and it could start happening today! If you believe with all your heart that God has something great around the corner for you, then hope will take over.
God’s hope is such a powerful thing that it can keep you going when practically nothing else can. That’s because God’s hope will never fail or let you down, even if everything else does.
A Prayer for Today
A Prayer for Today God, thank You for giving me never-ending hope. I confess today that I will live confidently in Your hope because I know I’ll never be let down. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Victory Through Him
Today's Scripture
“Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37 AMP).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
No matter what challenges you may be facing today—at work, home, in your health or in your relationships, God promises that even in the middle of “all these things”, you can have victory. How? Victory starts in your heart and mind. Victory starts with peace that passes understanding. That means that you can have peace when it doesn’t make sense to have peace. When the rest of the world is full of anxiety and worry, you can live in peace.
Victory “amid all these things” also means that you can have joy deep down in your soul. You can have so much joy that you can’t even explain why you have it! It’s supernatural. It’s joy unspeakable and full of His glory and power. When you begin to dwell on God’s promise of victory, something will change on the inside of you.
You may have felt like you were losing ground five minutes ago, but right now you can take hold of the victory He’s promised. Open your heart to Him and receive the joy and peace He longs to give you. Remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength, and as you embrace His joy, you’ll be empowered to rise above your challenges so you can move forward into the victory He has for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise of victory! Thank You for Your peace during the storms of life. Fill me with Your joy and strength as I put my trust in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He Keeps Watch
Today's Scripture
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Everyone has seasons when they feel overwhelmed by the busyness of life. In fact, one of the tricks of the enemy is to get you so caught up in the everyday “hustle and bustle” so that he can distract you and make you feel disconnected from the Father. But no matter how overwhelmed you may feel, you can find rest in knowing that the eyes of the Lord are upon you. He sees everything you are going through and everything you are facing. He knows where you are right now, and He knows how to get you to where you need to go. He knows what you need, and He knows how to provide for you.
All He asks is that you stay in faith and obey His Word. The Psalmist said, “I have been young and I have been old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.” Remember, God is faithful! He’s keeping watch over you. He’s keeping watch over your family. He’s keeping watch over His Word to bring it to pass in your life! Stand strong today knowing that you serve the God who sees and makes a way for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for watching over me and making a way even when there seems to be no way. I trust that You will never leave me nor forsake me. I bless Your name today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
